mIRC Tutorial

Once you have downloaded and ran the program for the first time, u need to enter your details. Look at the pic below for information. Make sure QuakeNet is selected as the IRC Network so u can get into our channel.

When connected select the channel folder displayed at the top left corner (Third Icon)

Select 'Add' and enter the following information.

*Make sure both boxes are ticked* so you join our channel every time u start mIRC

The following should appear: -

Now you will be able to chat to us if we are online

Getting Opped/Voiced

Note: Only Applicable to {DnF} or {DnF2} members...though anyone can do it if they wish (Not obligated)...but only members will get Ops and non-members will just get auto-voice 

First off, when you start mIRC, type in the following on the status window or any channel.

Obviously, change the 'your@email.com' to your own . You should then get a e-mail from quakenet...if not then try a different e-mail address or re-enter the '/msg Q hello your@email.com your@email.com' again.

Your auth information should look like this:

/msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH USERNAME PASSWORD

When you get this, go to File >> Options >> Connect >> Perform. Paste in your auth info into your perform buffer and make sure the 'Enable Perform On Connect' Box is checked.

Once this is done, disconnect and reconnect to the mIRC QuakeNet server, check your status window to make sure your auth'd...look at the diagram below:-

Once this is done...ask for the owner of L or Q to recognise you with their respected bot.
